The Origins

The Birth of a Partnership (2007 – 2023)

Facade Skylines International (FSI) traces its roots to Silver Meadow Trading 249 (Pty) Ltd t/a Facade Solutions Diri Aluminium Joint Venture (FSDAJV), a pioneering collaboration formed in 2007 between South Africa’s leading facade specialists, Facade Solutions (Pty) Ltd and Diri Aluminium (Pty) Ltd.

This joint venture was forged in response to the prestigious King Shaka International Airport project in KwaZulu-Natal, where the consortium behind the airport’s construction mandated a partnership of two industry leaders to deliver its complex external facades.

FSDAJV’s success in completing the airport’s R120M facade package ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup set the stage for over a decade of excellence.
The venture became a strategic powerhouse, executing high-profile projects across South Africa and the SADC region, including:

  • Discovery Headquarters: A cutting-edge unitized facade.
  • Standard Chartered Bank, Ghana: Cross-continental expertise in external facades.
  • Reserve Bank, Botswana: A landmark in Gaborone’s skyline, with a combination of Dekton, high performance glazing and Italian mesh.

With a focus on design, engineering, and installation, FSDAJV leveraged synergies between its parent companies, combining technical prowess with manufacturing capabilities.
Their collaborative approach – emphasizing early design involvement, risk mitigation, and cost optimisation – established them as a trusted partner for architects and developers.
